Winda Guru is a special school holiday session of Darumbal Storytime aimed at families with children up to 12 years of age.
Winda Guru will evoke the magic of night time on Darumbal Malgadu Nunthi (bush Country) in an immersive experience inside Level 1 Programs Rooms. Simulating the ambience of sharing stories around a campfire - including the chance to try damper - this session will ignite imagination through the art of storytelling in Darumbal and Aboriginal communities, highlighting the significance of intergenerational story sharing as an ancient and treasured practice fundamental to First Nations cultures.
Delivered regularly at Rockhampton Museum of Art, Darumbal Storytime fosters knowledge and understanding of Indigenous culture through Darumbal language. An engaging and interactive program, it features hands-on learning experiences including story, song, dance, art and craft. Darumbal Storytime engages and supports Darumbal teachers, Elders and community to develop programs that encourage community participation, exposure and increase awareness of Darumbal living culture as told by Elders and cultural leaders.

Darumbal Language Lessons are facilitated by Darumbal people or Representative from Darumbal People Aboriginal Corporation Registered Native Title Body (DPAC RNTBC) on behalf of the Darumbal People.
