Schools and groups are invited to book from a selection of workshops led by our artist educator, Peta Lloyd. Workshops can be scheduled between 9.00am - 4.00pm, Monday - Friday (subject to artist availability) by submitting a school and group booking request form.

Brush and Mark making

Participants will be taken through the process of making 2 – 3 handmade bush brushes each, from choosing a stick for a handle and foliage/grasses and other materials for their brush heads, to attaching the brush head to the handle using binding such as tape, string, embroidery threads and strips of fabric.

After making their own brushes, participants will experiment with using their brushes, inks and crayons to create a variety of marks on paper.

Making Zines

Participants will learn about the world of self-published Zines, what they are, why people create them, how to make and publish them.

Using paper, pencils and scissors participants will learn how to create a simple folded form known as a ‘magic book’, this is one of the many forms suitable for creating a self-published Zine. Using pencils, black pens, coloured pencils, and collage, participants will create a simple Zine, using any combination of text, drawing and collage, this can be a topic of their choice from their brainstorming or a suggested topic/s to fit with their class/school curriculum.

Collagraphy in Relief

Participants will learn how to make a relief collagraph plate from sturdy grey board bases, using a variety of materials such as, leaves, corrugated cardboard, lace, fabric, tea bag tags and many more! They will then be able to hand-print their plates in relief using water-based inks, brayers, Japanese barrens, and spoons, and be encouraged to experiment by re-inking their plates and printing in a different orientation over the top.
