Hear from Storm Mason, current First Nations Arts Assistant, about the projects that he has undertaken while working at Rockhampton Museum of Art and his creative response to the current exhibition, Richard Bell: Bell’s Theorem.
Bio:
Storm Mason is a Ghungalu man who is passionate about building a strong foundation for a career within the creative industries across a range of disciplines, including writing. He commenced a Bachelor of Creative Writing at Queensland University of Technology in 2022 and has won awards in writing for the NAIDOC School Initiative for Excellence in 2021.
Mason attended high school in Rockhampton where he demonstrated strong leadership skills in establishing a group within the school where students from a range of cultural backgrounds came together to identify and combat racism within the school environment. The group has been operating for a number of years now and continues to grow. During that time Mason also worked with the school’s leadership to develop a program to assist teachers and school leadership with implementing safe and appropriate cultural protocols and practices in the school environment.
