Overview

Expressions of interest are now open for RMOA Youth Ambassador Group! This opportunity is for young people aged 15-21 who love art and live in Central Queensland.

Help us establish a new group where young people and RMOA can work together to harness the energy and potential of art, creativity and community for connection, inclusion and wellbeing.

2025 Youth Ambassador Group will be co-facilitated by Audience Engagement and Learning team members Easton Dunne (they/them) and Dr Melinda Mann (she/her).

 

Proposed 2025 group activities

• Get to know each other through monthly catch-ups online and in person at RMOA.
• Monthly catch-ups will include exhibition talks and creative workshops delivered by RMOA staff and artist educators.
• Work together on a shared creative project and event. For 2025, we propose a zine created by group members with a launch event at RMOA in January 2026.
• Work together to develop opportunities for audiences aged 15-21 at RMOA related to upcoming exhibitions and events.
• Work together to decide on the best format for the group in 2026 and beyond.

 

Who can apply

Young people who love art, aged 15-21, living across wider Central Queensland. We encourage you to apply even if you can't make it to RMOA in person - you can still participate in online catch-ups and contribute to the zine, and we may be able to post materials for some workshops to you.

 

Proposed 2025 monthly catch-ups

Times and dates for catch-ups will depend on group members' schedules but are likely to be on a Monday or Tuesday afternoon from 3.30pm - 4.30pm, and possibly at other times during school holidays. You don't need to attend every catch-up, just the ones you can make it to.

• Online catch-ups: March, May, July, September, November
• In person catch-ups at RMOA: April, June, August, October, January 2026 (zine launch event)
